Qualifications in Practice Management (Health)

In association with NZIM & PMAANZ

Get on top of your game with two new qualifications for practice managers (health)
Medical and health practices occur in every settlement in New Zealand, and the people managing those practices vary between those with a high degree of expertise and knowledge to those without any experience or qualifications.

Yet practice managers are expected to take considerable responsibility in an area where lives might be at risk and where compliance and other reporting processes are complex and diverse.

Practice managers are often the frontline staff for client and patient, as well as the ones responsible for all the paperwork, patient files, compliance issues, accounting and finance. They are exposed to considerable risk if they are not well prepared for the complex roles they need to play.

The certificate programme is designed to reduce initial risk in the practice manager’s role by giving the participants basic skills and knowledge to enable them to carry out their job competently. It is expected that all graduates continue with the NZIM Diploma in Practice Management (Health), which focuses more on issues relating to planning, people and resource management, and a deep understanding of the health and political environments within which they operate.
