Why study the NZIM Dip Mgt and/or NZDipBus?

Both qualifications are widely recognised by employer and professional groups. They are approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority and the NZ Tertiary Education Commission. The diplomas are ideal for career-minded people seeking practical, flexible, high-quality business qualifications.

NZIM Dip Mgt and NZDipBus opens doors worldwide

The NZIM Dip Mgt provides a thorough grounding in business and management practice appropriate for people wishing to enter management roles in business. The qualification is designed as an exit point from the NZ Diploma in Business for those students who wish to have a basic understanding of management practice but do not wish to specialize in business studies.

With either diploma you can now work or study almost anywhere because New Zealand is a signatory to the Lisbon Convention and your New Zealand qualifications has equivalent status in each of the 50 Lisbon convention countries.

(The Lisbon Convention is recognized as setting international best practice for assessing ant comparing qualifications from around the world. Signatories to the Lisbon Convention include the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the United States, Canada and Australia.)

The competitive edge

In today's fast moving global economy, employers expect new graduates to be fluent in any culture and have developed the ability to interact, adapt and integrate within any working environment.

We arm you with these attributes, enabling you to gain a competitive edge when you enter your chosen profession.

All our diploma papers encourage you to put into practice the theories you're learning about. This 'know how' rather than just 'know what' gives you a true competitive edge in the job market.

Your options once you have completed the NZIM Dip Mgt and/or NZDipBus

  • Further study - most New Zealand institutes of technology and many universities will credit your diploma papers towards a Bachelor of business or similar degree. Both qualifications also let you travel and study internationally.

  • Return to your home country - with valuable international education and job experience so you'll have the confidence to succeed in a highly competitive global market.

  • Apply for NZ Permanent Residency - international students with recognised New Zealand qualifications such as the NZIM Dip Mgt and/or NZDipBus may be able to gain bonus points when applying for residency through the Skilled Migrant Category.

"Someone with a New Zealand qualification can now work or study much easier overseas because that qualification has equivalent status in each of the 50 Lisbon convention countries."

Michael Cullen, Minister of Tertiary Education, 20/06/2007
