International Students - FAQ What is the New Zealand Diploma in Business? The NZDipBus is a well established and recognised programme. It is perfect for career-minded people seeking a practical, flexible, high-quality business qualification.
A NZDipBus (level 6) is awarded when students have: achieved 240 credits of which 80 credits are at level six completed six of the seven core prescriptions completed no more than 60 credits at level four. What are the course entry requirements? Generally, you must have an academic background that is the equivalent of attaining 6th Form Certificate in New Zealand or higher (High School certificate from overseas countries).
International students enrolling for the New Zealand Diploma in Business must also have an intermediate level of English. You'll need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no band lower then 5.0. Previous successful academic study at a New Zealand tertiary institution at Level 4 or above will also be taken into account.

How quickly can I complete the NZDipBus? Full-time, under 2 years, based on completing 6 papers per year.
How do I study? You will have access to online materials, discussion forums with other students, and of course your own tutor!There will be a schedule of reading, quizzes and exercises and assessment activities which will guide your study.
How will I be assessed? Typically, assessment involves assignments and projects, tests and sometimes an exam which is administered face-to-face. Your course material will explain the assessment methods as they vary between the courses.

The NZDipBus is at level 6 on the NZQA framework, meaning that you are eligible for a Student visa while studying in New Zealand, and may work up to 20 hours per week part-time, or more in your breaks between semesters. Also, on completion of this qualification, you are eligible to stay on and work full-time for a further 12 months, and if you can find a relevant job in this time, you are able to apply for Permanent Residency.

What is the Student Visa application procedure? If you'd like to apply for a visa to study in New Zealand, take the following documentation to your nearest Immigration New Zealand (INZ) office (contact the New Zealand Embassy or High Commission for details OR talk to local education agent): Passport (must be valid for at least 3 months past the end of your intended study) Offer of Place Receipt for payment of tuition fees or for applications processed outside New Zealand, evidence of payment is not required until after the application has been approved in principle by INZ- Any other documentation required by INZ in your country.
You must allow sufficient time for your local INZ office to process your application. In some cases, this can take considerable time.
