Carl Bakker
Carl Bakker is an economic and financial consultant. Prior to consultancy, Carl spent 30 years as a policy advisor in the public sector. As a senior executive he worked in Treasury and the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, leading policy teams and providing strategy and policy advice to ministers across a wide range of issues. His experience spans across a wide range, including social policy, regulatory analysis, financial management and machinery of government, financial and commercial analysis as well as managing research and analytical teams.
As a manager and advisor he has contributed to the development of policy skills in staff, and he has delivered a variety of presentations and courses on aspects of policy development and analysis, and government financial administration.
He holds an honours degree in engineering and a bachelor’s degree in economics.
