AMELIA LONGUET

Amelia Longuet has recently joined SBG as Campus Director, Wellington. She is also the Principal and Managing Director of Forinvest Limited, a company which specialises in providing advice to overseas persons wishing to invest in sensitive assets in New Zealand and assists in facilitating foreign investments into New Zealand. Amelia is also a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand
Most recently Amelia was the Team Leader/Manager Applications, Overseas Investment Office (OIO) for over 5 years before setting up Forinvest Limited in March 2011.
Previous to her most recent regulatory experience at the OIO, Amelia was, Secretary to the Takeovers Panel and had also been Senior Solicitor with the Securities Commission, now the Financial Markets Authority (FMA). Apart from her public sector regulatory experience, Amelia’s extensive work experience includes several years in the commercial private sector of share broking, merchant banking and management consulting.
Having taught at AUT for several years, she is an experienced university lecturer in corporate and commercial law and was also Programme Leader of two NZ Diploma of Business modules. She has continued to lecture, on a part time basis on the New Zealand Legal Executive Diploma, a New Zealand Law Society education programme whilst working full time in Forinvest Limited and throughout her time at the OIO.
Amelia is married to Russell Longuet who is a professional director and has his own energy consulting company. They have two chidren, Anouska who is at university and Geoffrey who is at college.
Amelia and Russell have a farmlet in Otaki Gorge and love the rural lifestyle and outdoor activities associated with their rural lifestyle. Amelia is a Trustee of the Te Araroa Trust, the walking trails trust which has created walking trails from Cape Reinga to Bluff. Amelia enjoys golf and loves a glass or two of red wine with friends and family.
